Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

About Diamonds

What is the difference between a natural diamond and a lab-grown diamond?

The chemical composition is identical: pure crystallized carbon . It is not possible to see the difference with the naked eye ; only a gemological laboratory can distinguish them.

The difference comes from the origin . Natural diamonds are formed underground, while lab-grown diamonds are man-made under controlled conditions.

Their price, environmental impact, and market value also differ. We explain everything here .

Where do diamonds come from?

Our natural diamonds come mainly from Southern Africa (Botswana, Namibia, South Africa) and Canada. Given the current geopolitical context, we do not offer any diamonds of Russian origin . All our stones are certified and sourced in compliance with the Kimberley Process , guaranteeing rigorous traceability and the absence of conflict financing.

Our laboratory diamonds are created using cutting-edge technologies (HPHT or CVD) in specialized laboratories, mainly located in the United States , Europe and Asia .

Do you have other diamonds available?

Yes, absolutely. In addition to the stones presented online, we have a large network of partners and can offer, upon request , diamonds perfectly suited to your needs:

Exceptional stones of more than 2 carats , rare cuts , or even melee stones intended for jewelry professionals.

Let us know what you're looking for: we'll get back to you quickly with a tailor-made selection .

How is my diamond presented and delivered?

Each Diamstar diamond is carefully presented in a case , accompanied by its certificate of authenticity in paper format as well as a GIA explanatory brochure .

The whole thing is then shipped in a neutral package , with no apparent mention of the nature or value of the contents, in order to guarantee discretion and security upon delivery.

Diamstar laboratory & NFT certifications

Are all diamonds certified?

Yes, absolutely (except melees). We even offer dual certification, both paper and digital .

Each diamond, whether natural or synthetic, is accompanied by its paper certificate of authenticity, issued by a recognized independent laboratory (GIA, IGI or HRD). This document details all the characteristics of the stone (serial number, 4C, proportions, fluorescence, etc.).

Also, at Diamstar, we've chosen to innovate and also offer you a free digital certificate in NFT format stored on the blockchain. More information here.

How do I check the authenticity of my diamond?

Your diamond, whether natural or lab-grown, comes with its certificate of authenticity issued by an independent gemological laboratory .

This document details all the characteristics of the stone (serial number, 4C, proportions, fluorescence, etc.).

The simplest and most reliable way is to check, using a magnifying glass, that the serial number laser engraved on the girdle of the stone corresponds to the number on the certificate.

How do I verify the authenticity of my gemological certificate ?

To verify the authenticity of your gemological certificate, simply visit the website of the corresponding laboratory and go to the “Report Check” section.

Enter your certificate number to access its official version, usually available as a downloadable PDF.

What is the Diamstar NFT / Blockchain certificate?

Each diamond purchased from us comes with, if you wish, a unique digital certificate (NFT ), recorded on the Ethereum blockchain.

This exclusive DIAMSTAR certificate attests to the authenticity, traceability, and ownership of your stone. You can learn more here.

Do I need a wallet to receive this certificate?

Not necessarily.

If you already have a wallet (e.g., Metamask), you can send us your address when you check out. You will then automatically receive your NFT certificate in your wallet after the 14-day cooling-off period.

Otherwise, we will email you a simplified version accessible via a secure link, which allows you to view the document online. We also keep and archive your order history. If you decide to create a wallet in the future , simply contact us and we will send you the NFT certificate. More explanations here .

Next, choose your certified diamond from our selection of natural or laboratory-grown diamonds and add it to your cart as well.
